Best Bitter

Best Bitters are part of the very fabric of Sussex. You would struggle to find a pub that doesn't serve at least one!

Our Best Bitter was the very first Three Acre beer served from a pub tap, at the Runt in Tun, where it fast became a favourite among locals and has remained ever since.

Traditionally, a Sussex Best is well-hopped and consequently sweeter than those from next-door Kent. This rings true for our own, which uses a secret-weapon hop choice to bring out its distinctive caramel sweetness.

For a Best, the balance between sweetness and earthy flavours is a delicate one, but we like to think that ours is spot on - and a growing number of drinkers swear by it.

We are proud to brew a Sussex Best and it will always be our flagship beer.
